Dr. Shrand routinely gives lectures on Theory of Mind and it’s application to re-conceptualize the behaviors of patients. He recently gave a lecture at the Annual meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Chicago to broad acclaim.
With more than 20 years as a practicing psychiatrist in the field of adolescent and adult medicine, Dr. Shrand has helped many children and their families who have been traumatized by addiction and mental health problems. His vast experience in the field of adolescent anger management and conflict resolution has made him a sought-after speaker, and he addresses thousands of people annually at various lectures and workshops. He also speaks frequently at professional events for organizations including DARE, a group devoted to providing service to children in specialized foster care, the Asperger’s Association of New England, and dozens of school systems throughout Massachusetts. Since 2003, Dr. Shrand has lectured and presided at the biannual Learning and The Brain Conference held in Massachusetts and California, a fast-growing association that attracts thousands of educators, scientists, and other professionals who come to share state-of-the-art brain research and applications.
